marriage potential.

belly has decided that she would like to marry my good friend's little boy - big T.

i told her to hold out. there is no knowing at this exact moment in time ... what he will be like when he gets bigger. (not that he would be awful ... he has a pretty amazing family!)

i told her ... you just have to wait.

someday ... you'll meet someone that likes the same things that you do, a guy that has the same interests ...

her response?

"maybe i should just marry daddy ... 'cause it's gonna be hard to find another boy that likes to play with barbies."
-------------------------------------------------------
the next day ... playing polly pockets ...

she was a princess ...

i was the prince (basically the cinderella minus the hair ... and a bad outfit ... and sneakers ... *he* always has to wear the sneakers ... weird.)

anyhoo...

she saw me at the ball and decided we should get married. actually ... she told me we were getting married.

i said (in a low husky voice), "well ... it's a good thing you want to marry me ... not many girls want to marry me because i like to play with barbies."

she said, "that's terrific, 'cause i like barbies and singing and dancing and taking long walks."

at least she didn't add, "on the beach at night."
-------------------------------------------------
all coming from a girl that several months ago, thought the furnace repair man was handsome ... because he dresses nice.

jeans and a t-shirt.
-------------------------------------------------
where does she get this stuff????

I think the question is more "where does this stuff go?" when reality starts to impinge upon innocence.

Too cute! My daughter hasn't started talking about marriage yet, but I'm sure she's going to at some point.

You're waaaay too strict! Let the poor kid get married if she wants to! I suppose next, you'll tell her she can't have YOUR husband? Yeah. Thought so. Loosen Up already!

I don't know where she gets it but I'm glad she has it. It's good blog fodder. And I'm glad jeans and a t-shirt is acceptable.

Hey Jen, are you interested in meeting up this summer in the Rockies? We are getting ready to send out an email with info and we don't have your address! If you would like some info, could you send an email to blogtherockies@gmail.com for us? Thanks - hope to see you there!

I really love reading your posts about belly and coconut, they make me laugh. Sometimes like tonight a laugh is needed and I can usually count on you! Thanks!!!

I am also learning, I will probably be the worst mom ever because I laugh at everything A does. tonight he was dipping his bottom into the potty while number two-ing....B was not amused, however I was!

Thanks again!

Kids are hilarious. My friend's daughter used to tell everyone that she wanted to be a waitress when she grew up.
